APPA ID System Questions and Answers
What is the purpose of the ID System?
The primary purpose is to provide a means of verifying a
player's identity and event participation history in an
easy, convenient, automated manner while preserving each
player's and promoter's control over their own information.
Additionally, as the APPA ID System database grows, APPA
will begin to acquire a significant amount of aggregate
information on the people who play paintball. APPA hopes
to leverage this aggregate information to promote the sport
to interests outside of the industry.
Do I need to buy a new APPA ID card for each tournament?
No. Only one APPA ID card is purchased for the entire 2010
season and you only need one APPA ID card to participate in either the "RaceTo" format or the "Classic" format. Be sure to purchase your APPA ID card before the
first event you participate in. There is a replacement fee
for lost ID cards so keep them in a safe place.
Do we have to play the whole series or can we just play a couple events?
You do not have to play all 5 events in the series if you
don't want to. Your team may play just one event if that
is all they want to play. To be competitive for the series
prizes you will need to play as many events as possible
to increase your chances and overall score. Be aware, if
you play 1 event or all 5 events you only need to purchase
an CEPL APPA card one time prior to the first event you
participate in.
When do I need an APPA ID card?
You will need an APPA ID Card to play in the CEPL (RaceTo or Classic) Series. Players are urged to register for an APPA ID Number and
purchase an ID card before the date of the event! APPA Photo I.D. cards are $20 if purchased before
August 13th.
*Players with a CEPL APPA ID card AND who have participated in at least ONE CEPL tournament will receive discounted entry to the park on non-tournament days.
How does the system work?
Players first obtain an APPA ID number by registering online.
Events using the APPA ID system will require each team to
provide a roster of the APPA ID numbers. Once a team is
registered, their roster is checked to verify eligibility
for the event. The promoter is provided with a list of each
player's APPA ID Number, name and birth date so that each
player's identity may be checked against the roster on-field.
Who has access to my information?
Your identifying information will only be shared with other
parties when you use your APPA ID to register for their
events (you'd be giving them this information anyway, this
just saves you the paperwork.) Additionally, aggregate data
about APPA ID Card holders will be made available to the
industry for general promotional purposes. Your Name, Player
Class and Event History are considered PUBLIC INFORMATION.
Refunds?
Entry fees are non-refundable unless event is cancelled.
If your team is found to be in violation of any rule either before, during or after the event, and is disqualified there will be No refund.
