Classification:3-Man Young Gun's Division(10-14 years old):
Young GunsIf you were born on May 1, 1995 or later, then you are young enough to participate in the CEPL Young Guns Division in 2010 (If you were born in April 1995 or earlier, you are too old to play in the Young Guns Division in 2010). Proof of age is required for participation in the Young Guns division. Also, participants cannot have played in (this season or in prior years) any tournaments other than Young Gun events. The Young Guns division is a great place for the youth in paintball to test out their skills, and learn some new ones while having fun and playing some exciting paintball with their friends.
Birth Certificates are required for the first event that young guns participate in as proof of age.
Disclaimer-for those of you who will be celebrating their fifteenth birthday in 2010, as long as the CEPL staff receives a written request to retain your Young Gun's status, you will be allowed to continue playing in the YG Division for the rest of the season.
3-Man Beginner's Division
A beginner is classified as anyone playing in their first tournament season. That means, your first tournament could not have been more than a year prior to the event you are registering to compete in. The Beginner's Division is for those of you who are interested in playing a tournament, but haven't had the opportunity until now. Practice makes perfect, but there is nothing like the experience you gain from an actual competition. Beginners may not have participated in any 7 Man Events, and a maximum of two local 5-Man Events. You MAY NOT have participated in the WCPPL, XPSL(or similar type series), or any other National Level Tournament Series, Nor may a player have participated in any division higher than Beginner in the current or previous seasons. If your year limit should expire before the season is over, and you have already competed in at least ONE CEPL event, you will be allowed to finish off the season as a beginner. This exception is only in place, as long as you do not play any national level, or other major tournament series at any time during the current season. For those teams who participated in the CEPL for 2009 AND your team placed in the bottom half of the overall standings, you may submit a "request for reclassification" to the CEPL at info@thecepl.com to allow you to remain in the Beginner division for 2010. Reclassification is completely at the discretion of the CEPL staff and all decisions are final. Placing in the bottom half of the overall standings does not guarantee your reclassification and each player will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Teams with players found to be in violation of the Classification rules will be disqualified, and no refunds will be issued. We take the issue of "sandbagging" seriously, and will be reviewing each player's history.
Reclassification:
Reclassifications will be reviewed on a case by case basis, and the CEPL reserves the right to reclassify any player based on league's discretion. All requests for reclassification need to be made in writing, via e-mail at info@thecepl.com. The deadline for reclassification requests will be two weeks prior to the event in question, so we may have adequate time for research purposes. If a request is made after the deadline, it will NOT be considered. No reclassifications will be considered the day of the event.
